UNDP ​​GSSC MoFA Services 

GSSC MoFA Services provides assistance to all internationally recruited IP and GS staff members, Personnel Service Agreement holders, United Nations Volunteers and their family members of the following units of UNDP in Denmark – Nordic Representation Office (NRO), Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC)-HR, Talent Acquisition and People Programme/ Junior Professional Office Service Center (TAPP/JPOSC), Information & Technology Management (ITM), Procurement Services Unit (PSU), Talent Development Unit (TDU) and Common Services of the UN City.

The services provided by GSSC include processing of entry D-visa, registering with and obtaining Residence Permit/ID Cards from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Denmark, dealing with questions related to duty free import of personal belongings, import or purchase of motor vehicles free of customs and excise duties, taxes on goods and services purchased locally, questions related to Administrative CPR numbers and many others.

Facilitation of entry D-visa to Denmark

In accordance with the Host Agreement between UNDP Denmark and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), all internationally recruited IP and GS staff members, Personnel Service Agreement holders, United Nations Volunteers and the accompanying dependent family members of all UNDP units in Denmark are required to be obtain D-visa from a Danish Embassy prior their arrival in Denmark. The D-visa processing takes up to 2 (two) months. Therefore, it is highly recommended to initiate the application process as soon as possible.

Registration witht the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

In accordance with the Host Agreement, all UNDP personnel and their accompanying dependent family members of all UNDP units in Denmark are required to be registered with the Protocol Department of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs upon arrival in Denmark. The registration takes 1-2 days, and simultanoiusly the personnel are issued the Danish residence permit/ID cards and Administratice CPR numbers. 

Import of personal belongings

Personal belongings can be cleared within the first year of appointment only after the staff member is issued a Danish residence permit card and a Danish CPR number.  If personal belongings have been shipped before arrival in Copenhagen, Denmark it is highly recommended to inform MoFA Services about it as soon as possible.  

Import/Purchase of a motor vehicle  free of customs and excise duties 

Internationally recruited staff members are entitled to import or purchase one motor vehicle free of customs duty. Please communicate with the MoFA Sercives before shipping your motor vehicle to Denmark.

It is very important not to make any commitment for the import/purchase of a motor vehicle until MFA issues an approval for your request. Please familiarize yourself with guidelines of import/purchase of motor vehicles as different rules might apply to you.   

De-registration

In case of end of assignment in Denmark (Separations/Reassignments), the residence permits/identity cards must be returned to MoFA Services  to be forwarded to the Protocol Department.  Before departure an exit visa will be issued by Protocol Department in the staff members' national passport/UNLP.
