Back-Up Child Care Programme 
 
What can you do when your regular child care services are disrupted? UNDP has partnered with one of the top child care companies in the USA, Bright Horizons, to offer you back-up child care for children 3 months to 13 years of age either in one their 175 centers within a 50 mile radius of mid-town Manhattan or through their In-Home Care service.
 
Lactation Room
 
As part of our support to help working mothers balance their work and personal life, UNDP established a lactation room in the 3rd floor corridor between the DC1-DC2 buildings which is open from 9AM – 4:45PM Monday through Friday.
 
Gym Membership discounts
 
The New York Sports Clubs offer a corporate discount membership to UNDP staff and their family members over 14 years of age.  This membership allows access to any of their clubs as well as to all group exercises classes.
 
 

 
In the framework of UNDP’s participation in UN Cares, the UN System wide workplace programme on HIV the following services are available:
 
 
Voluntary Counseling and Testing for HIV
 
Twice a year, in June for National Testing Day and in December for World AIDS Day staff and their families can get free testing and counseling for HIV offered by New York NGOs.
 
 
Orientation Sessions
 
UN Cares NY offers orientation sessions on the facts about HIV, the UN Personnel Policy on HIV and AIDS, and how we can all contribute to a fair, equitable and respectful workplace that is free of stigma and discrimination.
 

 
In the framework of UNDP’s efforts to support global mobility of their staff members’ and their families the following programmes are available:
 
Career Support Workshops for spouses and partners based in New York
 
UNDP gives a series of seven workshops twice a year for UN System spouses and partners. The purpose of the workshops is to introduce participants to the application and selection process for positions with UN System Organizations and in the local US job market.
 
Spouse Pro Bono Services Programme
 
This is a UNDP volunteer programme where spouses get the opportunity to gain UN competencies and skills and UNDP Business Units get to benefit from their professional expertise through pro bono assignments developed especially for this programme by the Bureaux. Spouses receive a special Certificate at the end of the assignment recognizing their services.
 
Access to the UNDP Learning Management System

UNDP spouses can get access to certain on-line training courses in UNDP’s Learning Management System (LMS). Through these courses they will gain access to relevant information related to UNDP’s mandate, key values, and methods of work and receive a certificate for each course they complete.
