The UNDP Recovery Facility has been developed in the aftermath of Cyclones Idai and Kenneth, aiming to contribute to Mozambique’s rapid restoration of development pathways in a manner that builds resilience to disasters.

Synopsis of Complaint:
Complaint alleges that UNDP may have procured illegally sourced and untraceable "Chanfuta" wood in Mozambique, a country that is suffering from deforestation. The complaint alleges that this practice is not consistent with environmentally sustainable practices. The complaint further alleges that UNDP activity should conform to local legal requirements with regard to Mozambique logging standards and timber traceability, and raises question regarding UNDP Mozambique's relationship with a local NGO.
